![]() ![]() Taking off a star because the knockout panels on the bottom can be REALLY hard to open. You'll need to take care to prevent it from falling out before the lid is closed. The pullout plug is very loose in the socket if inserted in the OFF position. The box is very well built and thick, which is awesome. So, all you have to do is remove the neutrals from the disconnect's bonded bar, nut them to each other with the appropriate sized wirenut, button the box back up, flip the breaker on, and call it a day! This AC disconnect works fine for the purpose. For the bigger 4-zone outdoor unit (DIY-MULTI4-27HP230), you will need a 45A maximum breaker.Routing neutral through an A/C disconnect is rather easy once you realize that you can splice inside it just the same as you would with an ordinary junction box. For the smaller 3-zone outdoor MrCool DIY unit (DIY-MULTI3-18HP230), you will need a 35A maximum breaker. With multi-zone mini splits, you have two breaker sizes you need to check: Outdoor unit - Heat pump condenser. ![]()
